Our training programs are designed to support both personal growth and the development of skilled Feldenkrais® practitioners. Whether your goal is to become a certified teacher of the Feldenkrais Method® or to enhance your self-awareness, maturity, and well-being, the curriculum nurtures both paths equally.
First and Second Year:
The initial two years focus on deepening your personal experience with Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) lessons. You’ll explore movement in a way that mirrors the natural learning processes of childhood, enhancing self-awareness and flexibility. Along the way, you’ll build foundational skills for teaching ATM, should you choose to pursue certification. By the end of the second year, most students are eligible to teach ATM classes.
Key ATM Themes:
- Revisiting early developmental movement patterns
- Novelty, differentiation, and variation as key learning tools
- Investigation of primary skeletal relationships
- Exploration of highly organized movement patterns
Third and Fourth Year:
For those pursuing certification, the final two years emphasize the development of Functional Integration® (FI) skills. You’ll learn to create FI lessons, work with clients, and develop a nuanced understanding of movement dynamics. Even if certification isn’t your goal, this period also supports personal development, refining sensory awareness and deepening your connection to movement.
Key FI Themes:
- Relationship of ATM to FI lessons
- Distribution of effort in movement and action
- Exploration of function and organization for action
- Examination and refinement of self use and sensitivity of touch
- Enhancement of observational skills
Supporting Learning:
Throughout the program, students receive individual support, 12 FI lessons, and access to recordings of lessons and lectures. Supplemental lectures on anatomy, psychology, and related topics enrich the experience. Our environment fosters growth both as an individual and as a future practitioner, empowering you to choose the path that resonates with you most.
